The goal of the Atlantis Project is to introduce children participating in the City of Cape Town's sports program's, to the sport of triathlon and through our fundraising efforts provide much needed quipment.
Atlantis Project 2013
I would like to thank Coach Mike Moriarty, Lauren Dance, Dylan Pivo of M.A.D Multisport and Nico Sterk, for providing coaching and mentorship at our 2013 Atlantis Project, which consisted of two development clinics on Friday and Saturday in the Atlantis and Strandfontein communities.
The clinics kicked off with the formalities of introductions and then it was off to work. The coaches split the kids up into groups based on their ages to assess their swimming skills. The coaches then worked with the kids providing technique tips and guidance.
Now came the fun stuff, a mini aquathlon. The kid's raced against each other in relay teams putting their new found skills to the test. The clinic ended with coaches celebrating with their teams and handing out t-shirts.
Many thanks to the City of Cape Town and Western Province Triathlon for their support with co-ordinating the clinics.
View the pictures below and take a moment to notice that none of the kid's used goggles and lack basic equipment required for triathlon. We are kindly asking for donations of which 100 percent goes towards purchasing much needed equipment.
Many thanks for your consideration and click here to donate.
