. . . . .
If you’ve been fortunate enough to train or race alongside Brent and Kyle Pease of Atlanta, Ga., you most likely have a memory bank of images to tap into when you’re looking for strength to finish a long workout or a positive attitude to tackle day-to-day life challenges.

What started as Brent’s quest to be an Ironman in 2010 has transpired into Kyle’s vision to take the cards he was dealt, and accomplish more than most dream of.

Kyle was born with cerebral palsy and has spent most of his life in a wheelchair. Yet, this diagnosis, which has been a part of his life for as long as he can remember, didn’t plague his thoughts when he watched Brent cross the finish line at the 2010 Ironman Louisville race. A year later, Kyle, twin brother Evan and tBrent, shared the taste of victory at the St. Anthony’s triathlon in Tampa, Fla. They’ve raced 10 times since.

The Pease brothers have raced alongside professional triathletes, trained with fellow amateurs and motivated self-proclaimed “race cheerleaders” to get off the sidelines and sign-up for their first 5K or sprint triathlon. Beyond their positive presence on the course Kyle has led the charge to create awareness and raise funds to promote success for persons with disabilities through The Kyle Pease Foundation. Programs include scholarship opportunities, medical equipment or adaptive sports equipment, and educational campaigns to raise awareness about cerebral palsy and other disabilities. Through individual assistance, the Foundation provides hope through athletics.

Brent and Kyle will add another race to their resume when they compete at ELEVEN Lake Oconee this June in Greensboro, Ga. For more information on their journey and The Kyle Pease Foundation visit http://race.kylepease.org/index.html.
